S-3010B Radial Insertion Machine — 15,000 points/hour on a 300 x 500 mm worktable. The S-3010B is the in-line, large-worktable radial insertion machine in our S3010 series. It inserts tape-packed radial lead components at an actual insertion speed of 15,000 points per hour, carries 14 feeders, and takes boards from 50 x 50 mm up to 300 x 500 mm - the larger working envelope that separates it from the S3010A. Lead spans are 2.5 and 5.0 mm with 7.5 and 10.0 mm optional, components up to 20 mm tall and 13 mm in diameter, and the whole machine is 2.0 kW at 75 dB.

How the S-3010B runs a board
- Board in — The board enters the in-line track from the selected side - left-to-right or right-to-left - and is located optically.
- Program — Coordinates are imported over USB in Excel format, or edited on the machine. Programming is online, on the Windows 7 control platform.
- Verify position — The machine vision system corrects hole position before the head descends, so panel-to-panel tolerance does not become a mis-insertion.
- Insert — The servo-driven head places the component at any angle; the lead-screw-driven CTA presents the next part from the tape.
- Clinch and out — The clinch unit bends the lead outward at the selected length (1.2 / 1.5 / 1.8 mm) and angle (10-35 degrees), and the board continues down the line.
Machine photographs
We do not have a verified photograph of the S-3010B large-worktable configuration in our library, and we will not illustrate this page with a picture of a different machine. Ask us and we will send current photographs and, if you want it, a short video of your own board running on the machine.

S-3010B against the S3010A: where the two actually differ
These two machines get confused constantly - our own website had it wrong until 2026-09-29, when the S-3010B page was corrected. The difference is not speed alone; it is the working envelope, the feeder count and how the board is handled. Pick the S-3010B when a board will not fit the S3010A table, or when 14 feeders removes a second station. Pick the S3010A when boards stay at or under 400 x 400 mm and you want the wider published span range, the value-and-polarity check and an English interface.
Which configuration you need
Board length decides between the S-3010B and the S3010A
Measure your longest panel including any routing tolerance. Up to 400 x 400 mm, the S3010A is the simpler choice and has the wider published span range. Beyond 400 mm in one axis and within 300 x 500 mm, this is the machine.

Specify the 7.5 and 10.0 mm spans at order, not later
The standard configuration is 2.5 and 5.0 mm. 7.5 and 10.0 mm are optional. If your BOM carries wider-spaced electrolytics or connectors, they have to be on the purchase order.

Decide the board feed direction before the line layout is frozen
The machine feeds left-to-right or right-to-left. That choice determines where the wave solder or selective solder station sits relative to this one, and it is cheap to decide now and expensive to change after the conveyor is built.

Confirm the interface language requirement
The specification sheet records a Chinese-language operating interface on a Windows 7 control platform. If your operators need an English interface, raise it with us before ordering rather than assuming it.

Motor-driven base is an option
The base drive is a cylinder as standard, with a motor drive optional. Where the cell indexes frequently between different board pitches, the motor option is the one to price.

Work out the payback with your own numbers
We do not publish a payback figure for someone else's line. The honest answer depends on your wage rate, your board mix and how much of the long-panel work you currently do by hand. This is the arithmetic we run with customers - send us the inputs and we will return the completed sheet.
| Step | Formula |
|---|---|
| Hand-insertion work released per board | manual_seconds_per_component x components_per_board / 3600 = hours per board |
| Labour released per shift | hours_per_board x boards_per_shift x takeover_share = operator-hours released |
| Labour cost avoided per year | operator_hours_released x shifts_per_day x working_days x wage_per_hour |
| Second station avoided | 14 feeders here versus 10 on the base machine - price the station you do not buy |
| Payback period | machine_price / labour_cost_avoided_per_year = years (report in months) |
Every figure on this page comes from the S-3010B specification sheet. The 15,000 points per hour is published as the actual insertion speed, not a peak rating. Any payback number you see elsewhere for this machine is only as good as the wage and volume assumptions behind it.
Installation guide and site requirements
Site requirements
- Electrical: single-phase AC 220 V, 50 / 60 Hz, machine consumption 2.0 kW. Provide a dedicated supply with the main breaker reachable and the machine grounded before first power-on. [Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)]
- Compressed air: 0.6 MPa at 0.38 m3 per minute. Size the dryer for the ambient dew point at your shop, not the nameplate alone. [Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)]
- Ambient: 5 - 30 degrees C. Note this is a narrower and cooler band than the S3010A's 10 - 35 degrees C - if your line runs hot in summer, check the workshop air conditioning before ordering. [Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)]
- Noise: 75 dB at the machine. Within normal SMT/THT workshop exposure, but plan the operator station accordingly. [Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)]
- Floor space and loading: main unit L2080 x D1900 x H1700 mm at approximately 950 kg, plus the in-line conveyor run on both sides. [Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)]
- Board envelope: 50 x 50 mm to 300 x 500 mm, 0.79 - 2.36 mm thick. Confirm your largest panel and any carrier before ordering. [Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)]

Commissioning and training
Installation and operator training are included in our service terms for the S3010 series: worldwide support, free installation and training, a 1 day spare-parts lead time and a 1 month customised solution turnaround. We do not yet have a published S-3010B training video set; the S3010A training series on our channel covers the same platform family and is the closest reference until we film this configuration.
Where this table size is needed
The large worktable is specified for boards up to 300 x 500 mm, which is the panel class where manual radial insertion usually survives longest:
LED drivers and lighting ballasts / Power conversion boards / White-goods appliance control panels / Set-top box and motherboard panels / Long or out-of-square panels that will not fit a 400 x 400 mm table

Questions this machine always raises
What is the S-3010B?
The in-line, large-worktable radial insertion machine in our S3010 series. It places tape-packed radial lead components on boards from 50 x 50 mm up to 300 x 500 mm at an actual insertion speed of 15,000 points per hour, with 14 feeders.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
How is it different from the S3010A?
Three things: the working envelope is 300 x 500 mm instead of 400 x 400 mm, it carries 14 feeders instead of a 10-feeder base, and it is an in-line machine with selectable board feed direction rather than a manual-load or optionally automated load/unload station. The S3010A has the wider published span range, the value-and-polarity check and an English interface option.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
Is 15,000 points per hour a rating or a real speed?
The specification sheet lists it as the actual insertion speed. We are not publishing a separate higher 'rated' figure, because we do not have one for this model.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
What is the largest PCB it takes?
300 x 500 mm, both for loading and for the insertion range, with board thickness from 0.79 to 2.36 mm.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
How many feeders does it carry?
14. That is four more part positions than the S3010A's 10-feeder base, which is usually the difference between one station and two on a wide BOM.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
Which lead spans does it insert?
2.5 and 5.0 mm as standard, with 7.5 and 10.0 mm available as an option. Specify the optional spans on the order rather than after delivery.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
How tall a component will it place?
Up to 20 mm tall and up to 13 mm in diameter.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
What does the clinch do?
Bend length is selectable at 1.2, 1.5 or 1.8 mm and the bend angle is adjustable from 10 to 35 degrees, outward.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
Can it sit in the middle of an existing conveyor line?
Yes - it is an in-line machine, and the board feed direction is chosen at build time: left to right or right to left. Fix that direction before your conveyor layout is frozen.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
What language is the operating interface in?
The specification sheet records a Chinese-language operating interface on a Windows 7 control platform. If your operators need English, tell us before ordering - we are not going to promise an interface we have not specified.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
What are the utility requirements?
Single-phase AC 220 V at 50/60 Hz, 2.0 kW machine consumption, and compressed air at 0.6 MPa delivering 0.38 m3 per minute. The main unit is L2080 x D1900 x H1700 mm at approximately 950 kg.
Source: S-3010B specification sheet (available on request)
Why are there no photographs on this page?
Because we do not have a verified photograph of this specific large-worktable configuration, and we will not illustrate a machine with a picture of a different one. Ask us and we will send current photographs of the actual machine.

Is there a specification sheet I can download?
The 28-item specification sheet exists but is not published as a customer PDF yet. Request it through info@smthelp.com and we will send it, and add it to this page once it is formatted for release.
